What a wonderful first Henley Big Sing!

What an absolutely incredible event!  230 adults and 74 children age 7-11 joined us to sing at the two events that made up The Henley Big Sing. Everyone had a wonderful time singing under the inspiring direction of Richard Harker, with superb support from Anita D’Attellis, keyboard, Sam Wilkinson drums,  Andy Crowdy, bass and Raquel Dominguez doing a great job running the lyrics. AND, together, the participants raised an amazing £1002 to enable Riverside Counselling to support more people in our community.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make it happen – the generous support of Henley Town Council, our Gold Sponsors Davis Tate, Courtiers, and Beaufort Financial, our Gold Friends and the fantastic local support of JJ (Jayson Jaurigue) Founder, 8Ray Group and The Green Room in Henley.  We are also very appreciative of a grant from The Gwyn Arch Foundation which supports the development of singing skills in young people, and which helped make the afternoon session for children possible.  Thanks also to all the volunteers who helped beforehand and on the day. It could not happen without you!

We sang, we clapped, we hand-jived  (mostly in time) danced and sang in six parts while the children made a brilliant job of their songs and chose to be a wonderful variety of sea creatures in ‘Under the sea.’  The feedback to this free community event was wonderful with people saying that they left uplifted, exhilarated and inspired.
