Why join Henley Youth Choir?
We aim to give young singers the best possible vocal training, teaching various vocal skills and techniques, as well as listening skills, and confidence. Each term there is a varied Repertoire to work on these vocal skills whilst providing a fun and inspiring singing experience. HYC sings a mix of classical pieces as well as popular contemporary music. Juniors and Seniors have different repertoires, with some overlap.
Additional benefits for Senior Choir members
Singing in the Senior Choir, and /or volunteering to help at Junior Choir sessions, can contribute to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Senior Choir Members are also invited to attend Vocal Workshops featuring experts in a range of music style and singing techniques. These free workshops are organised about 3 times a year by partner organisation Henley Choral Society.
We love to perform
One of the highlights of each term is the end-of-term performance. Performances have included at the Henley Choral Society’s Christmas Concert, with an audience of over 300 people, at the Henley Youth Festival, at Henley Festival’s popular Family Day, and recordings for both BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Berkshire.
