Age 7-17 and love to sing? Join Henley Youth Choir!

Henley Youth Choir is delighted to be re-starting LIVE REHEARSALS at d:two from Thursday the 22nd of April! (Provided the lockdown eases as expected.)

HYC is a non-auditioned choir, open to 7-11 year olds (juniors) who rehearse Thursdays 5.30-6.15 pm, and 12-17 year olds (seniors), who rehearse Thursdays 6.15-7.00 pm. Each term fees are £50 with early bird discount; sibling discounts apply. The first session can be taken free on a ‘try it and see basis.’

We are looking for young singers to join us for our exciting Summer Programme, with music around the theme of “Friendship and Community.” Juniors and Seniors will be singing a range of contemporary music including “You’ve got a friend in me” from Toy Story, to “You’re my best friend” by Queen through to a classical piece “I Remember” by Quartel. The repertoire is designed to improve and vocal skills whilst providing a fun and inspiring singing experience.

NEW for the Summer Term is the opportunity for one-to-one singing lessons with our professional Conductor and Vocal Teacher Jessica Norton to members of the Henley Youth Choir. This will allow in-depth coaching of each individual, to further develop their singing abilities.

One of the highlights of each term is the end-of-term performance, which this year is planned in the form of a festive Garden Party for HYC members and their families. The youngsters will sing the pieces that they have rehearsed over the Summer Term, and there will be the opportunity for solo performances. At the end of the concert there will be hotdogs and a time to catch up and chat.

Other performances that are in the planning are participation in this year’s Henley Festival’s Family Day (tbc), which has recently been rescheduled for Sunday the 19th of September, and a grand Christmas Concert, held together with Henley Choral Society, on Saturday 11th of December.
